I have been on several other forums, browsing around for info and other people with our type of addiction. Well, I really did not take notice until just recently how much I appreiciate this forum and its moderators and members. I was browsing a local forum site and was taken back by how flagrently people disregarding the rules governing the forum. Especially the moderators! It was supposed to be a 'G' rated forum and half the mods had harsh language or references in their discourses.
I have to say, it was not only the verbage used that made me long for the Q-Tec forum. There was no order to the posts. We here have a group for different types of jeeps and the off topic sections, theirs were disorderly and choatic at best. I could not find one, ONE, discernable grouping to the posts. On here I have seen several people render opinions with some friendly jabbing and side bar conversations amongst fellow posters. There is a method, a consistant and understandable flow to the threads and sections. There I wandered aimlessly for 3 hours looking for some sort of tech section or TJ, Chevy, Ford, FJ forum and the like. I found none. NONE!!! An off road site with no rhyme or reason. I do not think I will be going back anytime soon.

I can really enjoy this site fully knowing this is the most comprehensive and well reasoned forum group.

I would like to extend my gratitude and thanks to all the members and especially to the Moderators. Thank You All!!!!!

you are welcome friend. I have joined several forums over the years but this is the only one I consistently hang out on.

...this one, and my local clubs is all I ever visit, even if I have been dubbed "groundhog fancy"? I keep coming back for the bacon!?:D

Q-Tec is the first forum I ever signed up on. I've been registered and banned from many other forums. This one seems to be the friendliest and most comprehensive site out there. When I built my own site (100% thanks to James for the work done on it BTW), I tried to follow the Q-Tec model. My problem was my site was geared to a VERY small crowd and no one really took interest in it the way the people on Q-Tec does.

At any rate: Q-Tec is a great site and I'm happy to call it my home on the net. People come and people go but, q-tec seems to be the same since I've been here.

One thing I like about this place is that there is structure, yet it isn't terribly rigid. By that I mean this is a Jeep related site, but at the same time you can get your fill of politics, favorite beers and foods (mmm...bacon), parts, tools, jokes, and other nonsense, and no one gets bent too out of shape.

I feel like I could sit down over a beer or twelve (whether made of barley or roots) and shoot the breeze with just about anyone here. Almost like family.

I have been on and belong to some other boards that feel like "This site is for and about ______. Any thing other than ______ will be removed."

I agree I have been to other sites and forums but this has been the best. Great info and a great group of people here, always willing to help a fellow jeeper out.

Good place to hang out.

It is the only Forum I hang out on even though I am a member on several other Jeep and off roading forums.

Ive learned a lot about Jeeps and gained some mechanical knowledge. Especially from the FAQ.
The only other board I go to is a Z4 forum. But still like Q-Tec better.
And people here are willing (I think ;)) to answer my dumb questions about jeep tech. Hahaha

I dont get to spend as much time as i used to on here, and i actually miss this place as if it were a bar or something. :p

Also made some good friends on here. Bobby is a cool guy (when we can get the scheduals in line) Dane is a funny little dude, and ZmarkZ has me rollin any time he drinks! Gotta give props to JeepBSU for being my movie-taste equal :D Doc, Pig, Knuckle, Tonka, Loaf, and Fatoldfool always have good advice (jeeps or otherwise). This site is very easy to hang out on, and I to am sad that I don't get to hang out as much any more. Like others, I belong to other forums and this one is by far the friendliest and the easiest to to use every one gets along and there is no model bias like alot of the others.

It's been interesting over the years... Seeing who's come and gone - then who came back. I remember when I met up with a group of Q-tec'ers for one of my first major wheeling events (at baldlands ... not just some local spots). I remember Tinknocker and his little red '87 YJ. Stock in almost every form... But he drove that thing like he stole it and kept up with everyone else with no problem. I was impressed... now look where he has come. Still gives me 'hope' that my Jeep could keep up with his now... Probably not... but I can always wish.

I've looked and joined some other forums, but never lasted more than a week. I've always stuck with Q-tec. There's been times I've been more active than others... But I'm always still around.

Were you at the run at the Badlands I was at? There were so many there I can't remember everyone.

That was so long ago I don't remember either. I would say that was November 2001 or 2002 (I think it was a "turkey run") There is some pictures floating around from then... I think I've been on two runs with q-tec members (2nd time was when Hal (Mudywglr4x4) sank his Jeep and lost his transmission right outside of Attica. I had to drive him and his 'Jenny' home that day)

I just joined 2 other forums but by far this is the best Q-tec feels like home. The guys and Gals on this forum are allways here to help jeep related or not. Great crowd allways good for a laugh, and if you have a tech problem someone knows what to do to fix it.
