just landed a prevailing wage job at work thats gonna keep me busy all summer!!! for those that dont know what prevailing wage is!!!

to me it equates out to be more then $42 an hour!!!

Your estimater did a good job! Enjoy it while it lasts. When we perform PWR jobs and have to pay our laborers and helpers in the $30 to $35 per hour range within weeks they are driving around with new trucks and new 4 wheelers or snowmobiles in the backs of their trucks and blowing cash left and right. The smart ones put it away for a rainy day cuz they know it ain't gonna last forever.
I like managing the PWR jobs because the guys are generally well behaved and punctual - they don;t want to get kicked off the job. Makes for a more professional experience.
Of course on my end, the paperwork with a PWR job is a PITA!

as the foreman pipefitter, i have to deal with some of the paperwork, that i am more than happy to do on my own time to keep the boss happy!!!

Well Eddy, I hope none of us end up like the thousands we see in the news these days standing on line for food handouts or waiting to fill out unemployment papers in HOPES to get some assistance. I guess it is the frugal Yankee in me that needs to salt away some bucks in case the recession comes to my doorstep and tries to suck the life outta me. Right now the recession is widely discussed and it is taking time to find its way into everyones daily personal lives, not all of us have felt the effects of it yet but it is just a matter of time before we are speaking from personal experience of its impact.
I suppose it helps that I have everything I could want and really have no urgent "needs". :thumbsup:
