Hello everyone, new on here from Louisville, Ky. I drive a 2006 TJ which now has 43k on the odo. I have owned this Jeep since Dec. of 06 and bought it with only 2miles on it.http://i368.photobucket.com/albums/oo128/medica40/Picture001-1.jpg

Pretty Jeep.... ;) When I picked mine up after ordering it from the factory, it had more miles. Perhaps 3....

Nice Wrangler and i hope you have fun building it, wheeling it, breaking it and re building it. I started with 172,000 miles :( but have had no problems with it since ive had it. First mod: do what knucklehead said and then lift it and put mud terrains on it.

Prior to any mods, get some wheeling experience and see what type of driving you are comfortable with.

Once you wear out the GSAs, look at getting at least 31" tires even without a lift. If you want more, look into suspension lifts to determine the size of tire you should get next (ie: 3-4" lift = 33").

Caution: Jeep mods = cause and effect (if you do one thing, it will effect something else)

Have recently moved to Taylorsville, Ky. It is in Spencer Co. Thanks for the nice welcome everyone!!!! I am a novice at 4-wheelin'. I have a 100k warranty in place, so, any serious suspension mods are on hold. I have tinked with the idea of going from 30's to 31's. I have 6 matching wheels/tires so it will be a while till I wear out the tires presently on the Jeep. I plan on taking my time learning more about off-roading. Dave.

Just cause you have a stock Jeep setup for the road doesn't mean you can't take her out for a run in the woods. I like driving down the old logging roads around my cabin. I have taken frail 4x4s out into the woods and trekked about with street tires.

Welcome from Pittsburgh, PA

Oh, also beware. Wear a biohazard suit while using Jeep forums. They tend to be rife with a sickness that will drain your wallet and cause serious projects to arise from your seemingly simple mode of convayence. BEWARE!!!!

Thanks for the suggestions, I am really convinced to replace the 30" GSA's with 31" tires. The obvious question, what type would be best for street and mild off-road use? Thanks all:)

Nice Jeep and don't worry about the warranty, I Modded my Rubicon fairly heavily right out of the box and the dealer warrantied anything that went wrong with no ?s asked, as long as it isn't caused by something you did.

My opinion on first mod would be to lose the shovel and do a Tummy Tuck, best mod you will ever do.
