Is there a good service manual out there for DIYers? I've seen a few advertised in PDF format on CD.

The factory service manuals are the best... The cost a few bucks though. I've seen them on CD's on Ebay.

Yup, FSM is your best bet. If you hunt around, you may even find someone who is willing to let you borrow their .PDF file ;)
