Front driveshaft U joint

Does the steering knuck need to come off to get the driveshaft out in order to replace the U-joint?

Not sure of your question...
Do you mean the front AXLE shaft? The DRIVE shaft runs from the tcase to the diff.

For the front AXLE shaft you pull it all out through the knuckle.
Pull off the brakes, rotor, unit bearing.

yes..please clearify..do you want to replace drive shaft U joints or front axle U joint?

You post says drive shaft so we will go with that..No, the steering knuck does not need to come off..drive shaft unbolts and is an easy fix
