I am new to the boards and have learned a little in the last week reading the posts. I have a 97 TJ with a 2" puck lift installed by previous owner. I need to replace the track bar and am trying to find an adjustable one to align the axle under the vehicle correctly. I also experience a shimmy between 65-70. Could this be because of the track bar alignment or tire balance. I just installed new tires and rims today and have not had the opportunity to see if the shimmy is still there. I hope to get some advice on this soon so I can get the vehicle corrected to not wear the new tires premature. Thanks for your help here.

Why do you feel the track bar must be replaced? is it broken or bent... Because other wise there are some other things you can do.

Drive on the new tires first. Might as well see if it was unbalanced tires or what not. There are back yard ways to relocate the stock track bar to compensate for smaller lifts. You can drill a new hole in the track bar bracket. I have a 98 TJ with a 2" Puck my self and havn't had any problums. But by drilling out a new hole farther down the track bar bracket you can realign the track bar suprisingly quite a bit.

I'd say try it on the new tires and if the problum persists you could try realigning the track bar.

If you plan on lifting it up more it may be worth investing in an adjustiable track bar at that point. But if your happy with the 2"BB it isn't necessary to really change the entire bar out.
