Ok my A/C fan on my TJ won't blow on high. The first three setting work but the #4 setting makes the fan shut off. I have been reading about the blower resister going bad but everyone says that the first 3 controls won't work and the #4 control works when he resister is blown. Anyone have an idea?

For the $20 or so bucks it takes to replace the resistor, I say do that first. If it doesn't work just return the thing. 2 small screws holding it in behind the glovebox. Good luck

The "high" position has no resistor in it's function...

So everything else on that panel works? Will it click into place when you turn the dial or does it just kind of slide? I replaced mine because it had no resistance and it turned out that it was completely stripped.

Yes but doesn't the circiut still feed thru this coponent? I don't have a schematic so I am just guessing here that the resistor pack is soehow in series with the fan itself.

No resistor in the high speed current path...

Yes that switch will "click" into place. All the local part stores are wanting between $45-55 fo the resister. I usually dont't use the A/C much but I live in eastern NC and it has been hot as hell this summer. Last night I replaced the relay and it still didn't work. I guess I will just replace the whole unit ($50on ebay). Thanks for everyone's input.

jason its your turn signal fluid, fill it up and it will trip your a/c fan modulator which in turn will align your muffle bearings fixing the problem. i told u get up with me and we would pull my switch and try it.
