An OEM style one...

I got a cheap one off ebay for under 100 to my door. It was new, had the core with plastic tanks crimped on the sides. Still running strong, I was broke at the time and it has seemed to work out ok. My plan is to take the old one in and have it rebuilt, so when the new one goes I should be set. I seen others on here use the new ebay radiators. I think it was from radiatorworks or something like that.

You can't have the radiators with plastic tanks rebuilt. Do not get an all brass radiator (radiatorbarn)...

i dont mean to jack this thread but i was thinking about getting an electric fan but a random thought popped in my head. can you run two radiators to help cool it or is that a pointless idea

You could, but it would't be worth the effort...

certainly wasn't going to rebuild the ebay one (with plastic ends), just going to rebuild the oem one, so i'm ready when this one goes out.

If you have a TJ, your OEM radiator has plastic tanks...;)

...good to know. I picked up the TJ 98 2.5l, with 125k on it. I just assumed it was oem, so the one I have must be after market because it is solid, looks like brass, why should one avoid the brass ones? I haven't rebuilt it yet, so should I scrap it? Sorry to hijack..

Because the brass radiators don't cool as well as the aluminum core ones. Also, the all brass radiators have a problem with the tubes in the core seperating from the tank when flexed...
