I have an '85 CJ7, the front differiential is a leaf SOA, Waggy(I have been told, not sure though) (5.38) It has fabricated spring mounts on the outer edges of the frame. I am wanting to install a steering stablizer. I have no idea what to look for, or where the "fixed" end might mount. Any ideas or suggestions? Even at this lower gearing, I run it a lot on the street..I believe this critter has potiental..thanks guys, I apprecaite any and everything..I would attach some photos, but they are way too big and size (not clever enough to make them small enough to upload)

Why do you need a steering stabilizer?

It just feels a bit loose to me, I think the caster is outa whack because of the spring mount modifications. The springs seem way to long, have a bent leaf..so I need to measure the good leaf (passenger side) have a shorter ones made, put the shackle in the rear..then get it aligned up...I just think a stablizer would help this big ole boat...am I wrong in my thinking? I wish I could load some pictures, get your input and advice on a few more things..as you can tell, I am new to the Jeep way of life, although I have my name on 3 Jeep tiltles now. ~L~..thanks Ohio....

Steering stabilizers are more of a band-aid for other steering problems typically. If everything is tight in your front end you don't need one. I would fix the other stuff first, make it right, then see if you still want to add a stabilizer.
I'm running a front waggy 44, SOA, on 37s, never run a steering stabilizer.

oks, thanks..I have checked everything underneath, all is tight, supposedly it was new when I bought the Jeep, don't have any wobble or problems. That negative caster makes it touch at road speeds, well, top end safe speed is about 50mph, po' lil 258 wound to about 3 grand..thank you
