I would like to point out the fact, that I have everything needed to build on of these at my house right now. Mine wouldn't be as dangerous. But I have all I would need to build a laser that looked like a lightsaber that could burn ****. I would only have to slightly modify one of the lightsabers I have made. Remove, 4W LED replace with over driven HD DVD laser.

My friend bought a laser off of ebay for like 10 bucks and modified it slightly to where it will burn someone or pop balloons. I wouldnt say it is any more powerful than a focused magnifying glass though.
BAH, it's not a lightsaber... it's a cheap laser with a lightsaber casing.
A real lightsaber would be made using plasma as the blade. But, technology still doesn't support such a tool/weapon.
