My trac-bar went at 11,000 miles w/ stock tires! My brother has a 98 w/35,000 on it, His went and the dealer warrenteed it, Dodge knows there is a problem, the bar is beefy w/small ends...Why go aftermarket if dodge will give you a new one, and an alighnment too! Anyway good luck...

A local Dodge dealer has my truck today, since I am 1030 miles out of warranty, they have to contact Chrylser to see if they will pay for the new trac bar. I'll post the results soon...

One last post to finish the trac bar... Dodge did replace it at no cost to me, however, they did not align my truck. When I called them, their first reason was they could not properly align it because my tires were too large (285/75/16). Once I informed them they have aligned it 3 times previously, they said changing the bar would not have changed my alignment. Then the third reason was that Dodge did not agree to an alignment when thay agreed to pay for the bar. After about 2 hours of discussion, they have agreed to only charge me 1/2 price.

Well one thing I have learned theough the years, is all Dealerships are not equell. The people I bought my truck from are great, I had problems with a Dakota I had previously they bent over backwards to fix the problem. Why I went back! They are very service oriented, Free oilchanges and lube for ever! The service Manager told me Dodge says and pays for an alighnment after a trackbar replacment, Fine with me! Your dealer could be pocketing the alighnment compensation from Dodge, not to mentioning charging you....I don't see the need for an alighnment, But dodge does say so! Anyway Good Luck!
