I took my 2001 Ram in to have a rattle investigated. It turns out that it was the shift linkage bushing that had worn out. After talking with the service supervisior it appears that there may be a TSB out on it.
Just and FYI.

How many miles on your Ram? I just bought a new 2001 Ram Q-cab. Right now it has 2100 miles on it. No rattles yet.

wsdads, My TJ is a standard. thats why i got the auto in the Dodge. The test drive was short. Not enough time to really judge the auto. I have heard some bad things about them though. I love the truck. But it does get on my nerves sometimes. It's like it's always search'in for a gear. The overdrive button helps that but doesn't help the fuel milage. Hope I have good luck with it.

At 20,000 miles on my 2001 Quad Cab, Offroad I have had the track bar and the shift linkage bushing issues, But the Trans shifts perfect in O/D or out of it, Does great towing my Jeeps around too. Anyone have a spare alloy 17" wheel kicking around? The stock spare steel is 16" that kinda pissed me off! got rid of the stock junk goodyear tires and went with Procomp 33/12.5/17 M/T,s what a differance! No more sliding around in the rain, Anyone want to buy my Goodyears? 5,000 miles on them. anyway seeya...
