Most land in Texas seems to be private owned and fenced....any recommendations of places where 4 wheeling is allowed close to Austin is much appreciated!

Hi Big Red. I don't know what you mean by "close to Austin" but...the YO Jeep Jamboree near Kerrville was this past weekend. There's a spot near Uvalde that goes by the same name. Next weekend I'll be at the Rough Canyon Roundup in Del Rio. Contact Jeepmasters in Austin at (512)326-3555 and/or Austin Four Wheelers at http://site23684.dellhost.com/main.html

hey big red, sounds like we are all in the same boat around here with limited weeling places. if you go to www.demon4x4.com (http://www.demon4x4.com) then look for the texas wheeling link there is a good list of some state wide wheeling places.if you know of any that are not on the list be shure to send them the info and they will post it on the page. smile.gif

I know that alot of people from Austin go to the area north of you called the SLABS. It is supposed to be some pretty nasty wheelin..

Have you been to Shiloh Ridge near Alto? It's a private ORV park, but looks like a great place to wheel. I've been thinkin' about trying it out, but I can't find anybody to go with me.

Anyone been wheelin' in Big Bend? The website shows a few trails, but I can't seem to find a whole lot of info on them...
