Mike3 and I were talking about a run this month to the Badlands. We were thinking about the 19th, but someone begged in another thread for the 26th. So, who wants to go on a run this month, and on the 19th or the 26th? Let's hear from ya.

Me? I want to go, and I don't care which day.

Whoo-Hoo! A snow run!!! (maybe)

I'm available for either date, but since nobody cares, let's make it the 26th so Chuck can go.

Dress warm! smile.gif

Well, I found that I read my calendar wrong, the 19th is bad for me too. So, the 26th is the date, I guess. BTT. Come on, there have to be more. Coynster? yjeepin94? bya72? Come on, a little snow won't hurt you.

<chant> Snow Run, Snow Run <end chant> I'm anxiously awaiting a snow run. But you locals are killing me with getting up at 4:30am. How about helping us Illinoisans out and schedule it for 10:00am trail departure. 01/26/01 works for now!

We finally got enough snow here to be able to see how it handles. In a word; "DIFFERANT". The M/T's are "not" a snow tire!! With it in 4wd, it takes off straight, but stopping is a real skill. I think I'll leave it in though. The only real problem that I can find is the traction is just not there with those tires. Keeps me on my toes, and sharpens my driving response time. :D

That works for me Eric. I can handle sleeping in an extra hour! smile.gif
Besides, it wasn't very crowded the last time we went. (Dec. 29th)
I guess some Jeepers don't like the cold!

Who would have ever guessed this as the forecast for January 26th in the Midwest?

Sat High Low
Jan 26 Mostly Sunny 49°F 31°F
UV Index: 2 Minimal

So much for the snow run - I'd imagine it'll be quite messy. So lets get an official headcount on whose going to make it! 50F is going to make for one very comfortable day of wheeling. No excuses about the weather, thats for sure. This is a real treat!

Whose coming!? This trip, I'll be there. Actually heading down on Friday evening. Also, if anyone has an SWR meter and wouldn't mind bringing it along, as well as antenna tuning experience, I could really use a tuning of my antenna. TIA

Eric

I'm still planning on going, I just hope I can get my exhaust together so I don't have to beg a ride-along. I started replacing it yesterday, broke one stud (which I've drilled and tapped), and have 2 more that are too short for the heat riser valve that was missing off my original exhaust. Gotta try and get them out and new ones on. And gotta get a tail pipe (the one that came with my kit is meant to go out the back next to the 15gal tank, I have the 21 so I need the pipe that angles through the spring. I'm callin my friends at Quad tomorrow morning.

OK, glad to see we still have some folks meeting. I'm surprised with the mild weather that there aren't more people coming out this Saturday - unbelievable weather for December. I was looking forward to the snow run, but definitely prefer the warmer weather. I'll see everyone Saturday morning -

Mike, thanks for the mail, appreciate your assistance with my CB..

I can be there before 10am now. I'm heading into Lafayette on Friday night. So if you guys want to do the original 9am, I'm fine with that. I appreciate the 10am accommodation, however!

We'll be at the Jim Dandy Mike. Stop in and have some coffee!

Maybe the boys can ride in the back of my Jeep on the way up there. It might be less boring for both of them if they have someone to play Gameboy with! smile.gif

And if they get too noisy, I'll threaten to make them ride with Valerie! ;) tongue.gif

Val only got 6 pictures before the batteries died in the digi-cam. :(
Here's a good one of Coynster (Eric) on the stairs:

I forgot your batteries ran out. I didn't get a whole lot of action shots, mostly self-posing shots. You can check out all the pictures I've got by going here. (http://www.ecoyne.com)

Had a great time, Val - thanks for spotting me on the steps and RTI ramp!

Can't wait for the Bunny Run! And I'd just like to let Hoosier and Maddnes know that you won't need to be repeating your "close calls" during the Easter run. If I only had my camera ready... sorry!

Next time I'll remember to bring extra batteries for the camera. redface.gif

Eric - You're welcome.
And I'll second the motion to NOT repeat the close calls.

In all, it was a pretty good day. Lots of fun had by all. :D
