I was hoping to do a pines run this Saturday. Piney if you are available, it would be great if you could lead us. My girlfriend will be home and we are looking to do a little bit of wheeling before she gets her jeep. Anywhere near Atsion or even those Lumberton trails would be ok...somethng that wont kill my stock daily driver.
WheelsHigh was looking for a Saturday run too - Sunday is a better option for me though. I also have off on Monday for the holiday if anyone is thinking they might be available then...
As for stock Jeeps - they do remarkably well in most terrain - it's just us guys with the modified Jeeps that think we own submarines that get stuck!

jeepinfireman,
i wont be there this time, but dont worry if you are stock. you will do just fine. if you dont have one of the bigger guys there as a "depth tester" get out and take a look at what you are going to drive through before you dive in to it. the only problem with a new jeep is you will get scratched up on the sides. some of the trails are tight. if you read the other post from this past weekends run you will see piney picking on me about cleaning my jeep. i have found that lots of wax on you rig will make the scratches easier to buff out with some compound. it also makes it easier to blast off the mud and sand with a power sprayer because it doesnt stick to the paint as bad. i know it is gonna get scratched when i go, but i also want to take care of my jeep so it lasts longer(if i can help it).
have fun if you guys go!

Can’t make it this weekend I have a triathlon on Saturday and the annual winter swim around New York on Sunday. Probably won’t be up to go till sometime in February after my mod’s get completed. Anyone want to swap some 33 mud's for some almost new BFG31"MT's?

Thanks for considering it Piney. Just to let you know, you are the most highly recommended Pines guide that I have been told about. I would be happy to go in february, and hopefully the little woman will have her jeep by then so she can go with us. Drop a thread or e-mail me when you are ready to go. I am not to far from you over here in Edgewater Park.

I'd like to go wheeling this weekend but I can't make it Saturday due to that nasty four letter word WORK. If anyone is going Sunday I'd like to tag along.

a friend of mine may be interested in them. he doesn't have much of a trade unless you want his 30x9.5 goodyear gsa's :D . if you decide to go buy the 33's without trading the 31's let me know, my friend is interested if the price is decent. i myself may want them too, i was looking for an excuse to get a second set of rims. keep me posted or email me. as far as me id be looking at the $60 range for each.(cant swing much more right now) i know that is low but if you get stuck and want to unload them im here.
thanks,
matt

A triathalon--that I would love to see!!
BTW, I was gonna ask you if you wanted my 34X9.5 Swampers. They will be too small for the Scramler, and the Wrangler will be a wussy street only poser Jeep soon! After we get done with the lift you can try the Swampers out and decide if you like em.

Thanks for the offer green, but they only have about 100 road miles and about 2,000 off road on them. I paid $135+ each, so I am afraid I would have to ask more than $60 for them. Then again they may have to sit in the garage or stay on the jeep too. Besides, what would you want mud tires for? That would mean you would have to go in the mud. LOL! You would love them over those AT's...no comparison on the trail.

well keep me posted. if you want to unload them, ill be interested. as time goes by there will be more money in my "jeep fund" and maybe we will work some kind of deal out. those tires zach is talking about sound like something you could use to show us amatures how to go through the deep stuff smile.gif
are you still putting a locker on your jeep too? im getting my trac lok looked at next month and maybe replaced with a trutrack. ill have to see what happens. im not ready to do a lift right now so i think the "better" rear diff is my best next mod.

Thats a good one Zach. I can see it now. Your poor YJ will break down the first week it knows its not going back to the mud. Maybe you will have to make it happy once and awhile.
Hey Zach - how much do you want for the swampers?
No guide for Sunday means no run - unless we can get Ryan to go to Sarco again.
WheelsHigh - let me know about Monday.

Yeah, she is already starting to be a ***** , and I haven't taken anything off yet. Last week she let her rear u-joints disintegrate and two weeks ago I had to take out the front driveshaft because the slipjoint was loose and causing a nasty vibe while driving. Now all I have to do is rear axle seals and rear brakes. This is such a cheap hobby.
BTW, it will kill me, but if Piney does not want the Swampers after we lift his Jeep they will be for sale. As far as a price goes, it depends on who is buying them. I have had them for 9 months and they have only seen road on the way to the trail so I would assume they have about 2K miles on 'em. They cost $140 when I bought them and I will have a stock set of wheels to go with them.

Yeah, she is gonna be light duty wheeler and work mobile. The new Scrambler will be the "beat-on-Sunday-and-leave-it-all-week-just-to-beat-it-again-next-Sunday" vehicle. Unfortunately, there is a long way to go til that stage. I may have to ride shotgun this year a coupla times. :(

Piney,
If we do get snow let me know if you want to go out for a little while on Sunday. Most likely I'll drive the ZJ until I get the swampers on.

HAHA, nope that type R doesn't stand a chance. The Jeep is running (knock on wood) normal for now. I will be driving around toms river all night when it snows. Maybe I'll see you out there.

Sunday is an R&R day for me, at least this weekend. I plan on vegging with th dog in front of the TV with a couple of good movies and watching the highlights from the Eagles win over the Hibernating Bears.
Be safe out there, y'all.

I went back in the pines today very awesome even by myself almost had a few close encounters with trees  . Geez I went up that hillclimb again in the snow and man I thought I was going to flip it when I hit that rut that Russ dug out tongue.gif. Scared the crap out of me when my back drive side tire went in it...all I saw was sky and I think my front tires left the ground :D . Definetly was fun going up it in the snow though.

If you know your way around lets set up a meeting place. Took the kids out by the school tonight and hooked the sled to the tow rope. They had a blast!
