There are 4 of us going up on Sunday. We are going to start out mild, and see what happens. 3 of us are lifted w/33's and one stock w/32's.

I'm prob just going to wheel on sat after finding out how far it is from me (I'm in hoboken nj). I was planning on doing the trail run with a 2 difficulty. I'm mostly stock CJ7 with 31s and have done a decent amount of wheeling. The 1 seems like for someone who's never been in 4-lo before. and i guess you need a locker to do the 3

rider_matt , I've done the level 3 several times without any lockers and have never had a problem. Hey if you get stuck, we'll get you out.

Wranglergirl...why not drive yourself .....there will be a bunch of people who can help you position for various tough spots--and it's always more fun to drive vs be driven.
Brooks.....does everyone air down at paragon? I've never been a big fan of airing down since its such a pain in the butt to air back up. But i'm also not a big fan of having to get yanked out of every pot-hole or slipping off every rock bc i have too much air.

It takes about 2hrs15mins from Hoboken to Paragon.
I live in Jersey City and have been there several times.
I won't be there then though, I'll be going October 19-20th.

Yes we air down. There are two gas stations within a couple of miles for airing up, but I have onboard air :D

good stuff, thanks Brooks. What time should I get to paragon? They say register before 9, but i noticed that they don't leave for trail ride until 10 (i'm doing trail diff 2)
Hey kids...
IF Got Mud? is up and running, and IF she's relatively stable, and IF I can figure out where the power steering leak is coming from, and IF the gods of CJ are kind to me, I'm going to try and make it!!!

That means I'm at the gas station just outside Paragon usually by 8:00. That way I can gas up, grab some coffee, and get to the front of the line. I hate being in the back waiting. As I said before, I'm not locked and have never been stuck on level three. You might want to try it. I think level 2 would be just too flat.

sounds good, hope to see ya there. i'm in an 81 black CJ7, with 31s and some rust around my rocker panels and rear wheel areas. i'm dragging my woman out in the rain with me to do some wheelin, so there will be two of us. I'm the jeep that doesn't stand out, except that it looks like a good-ole beater!!!!

Paragon was a great time--I'm def going back soon!!! I did level 2 and was surprised that I got my $#@ kicked on a couple of the more difficult areas...I couldn't figure out if it was my terrible driving of my crappy stock CJ. It turned out that I was simply an idiot--my air gauge was inaccurate and I was actually wheelin with 25lbs vs the 18 I thought I was. It was my first time airing down--so I'm using the excuse that I didn't know any better. oh well, it was more challenging that way I guess.
Also, on the very last trail before we headed back my tranny got stuck in first gear--the shifter popped out. My 1st/2nd rail in my tranny is a bit worn and should be replaced. luckily for me the guy who sank his Toyota pick up in the lake (anyone see that)fixed me up in no time--and I got home fine.
how did everyone else do?
Matt

I totally missed your post Matt. As for myself, no damage, pulled out a Toyota Land Cruiser, out climbed a new Rubicon, and didn't get stuck at all. I should be heading back up in the beginning of Nov. for the Toys for Tots run. Let me know if your interested. email me
later,
Jason
