I got a tracking number for my lift. The estimated DOA is October 17th... which means we could do a wrenching party the weekend of the 19th!!! (most likely the 20th)...
Now all I need is
1. A place
2. A time
3. Tools
4. Someone(or ones) who know how to put one on (HAH THIS would be a good one to have, eh?)
I will let you know the closer this gets as to whether I'll have it before that weekend, just putting out a heads up to everyone who is interested!
And if noone is available, well I'll just wait another weekend. smile.gif
So, anyone?
Edited to add: OH forgot besides the lift I would like to have my overhead security console (w/my cb grounded) and instatrunk installed as well smile.gif
AND, there will be refreshments and stuff smile.gif

Hey Terri, I could talk to Tim. Him and I could help you in my garage, thats if you want to drive to Spring City to do it. I have air tools, and plenty of other tools. Let me know, and I'll see what Tim is doing, we could knock them out in a couple of hours. :D
I think she will be big trouble on the trails :D :D
I bet she is so excited dont know witch she wants more the lift or the trail ride??
How much are you lifting it Terri Good luck with the lift!!! :D :D

BTW, how is that auto tranny doing?
maybe you should buy some 4.11 gears and ill put them in mine and then you can put my 3.73's in yours ;) :D

Well I was talking to a friend who works at Hoaks and he went out and looked at my Jeep and said they are both 3.07 gear (I saw the numbers)... He quoted me regearing $1200!!!! YIKES!...
I'd rather the 4.11's go on MINE tongue.gif
And heh I took the lazy way out and am getting a garage to change my fluids (as well as an inspection and oil change), so hopefully I'll get her back soon smile.gif She's been sounding a little rough, hopefully this'll work.

EDIT: just out of curiosity, what made you decide on the MT/R's? i dont think they are the best tire if you become a pines junkie, i think the SSR swampers or the TRUXUS would be the way to go for mud and deep sand on a daily driver. i got the ones i have because i kept my A/T's as a second set if needed.

Terri, You never replied to my post, did you get help yet? Are you gonna do it yourself, or are you gonna let a shop do it?

Since you are like me and mechanically challenged I would take it to Zach's Offroad and get it done right. You get what you pay for and he is very reasonable.

He is 5 minutes from the Pic in Southampton. He is zachv on this board. He does work for most of the locals over here and is a perfectionist when it comes to doing work on jeeps. He may be too busy, but check him out.

I've installed 2 lifts from Rubicon both took forever to get to my doorstep. U are acting just like me when thes next box gettin here layin out the parts and gettin ready to put it on but the 3.5" kit should only take bout a day to install actually less couple hours my 5.5 extreme duty kit took me couple days with all the drilling and cutting invovled. but good choice on a lift. the 4.5" kit really sux too much lift for the lil arms and for everyone saying 31's will look dumb i ran 31's with my 4.5" lift for over a year till i could afford 36's well check you all out later

Terri- my understanding of the RE lifts is that the extreme long arm kits are the same... Just adjustments to be made in the arms, with different springs and shocks. Is the superflex kit different?
And, I'd be willing to lend time, and tools to the job, however, kinda far away from you, and I am not sure you'd want to come all the way out here to do it.
That said, I am well set up, even though I haven't completed running the wire for the welder outside yet. And, I have done a few TJ lifts in my time.
Well, if you still need help, let me know. You'll see me again tomorrow.

Well to enlighten all on the rubicon lifts the only lifts i found decent are the long arm kits, ride is alot better handles better on and off road better articulation my rig gave me a 1042 with 36" tires on ok4wd's ramp so go figure. the 3.5 kit is better the the 4.5 kit due to the fact that with 4.5 coils the short arms are all the way extended giving you a jumpy rough ride where as the 3.5 kit will sag a lil and give you a spongy feeling ride. ive helped many buds of mine install lifts from skyjacker to explorere pro comp and then rubicon, so ive seen them all and the only kit i had problems with was my recent long arm kit. grant it i love the kit but i needed to spend sum money and i bought a welder, hadda grind off my old mounts and drill 10 1 inch holes in my frame weld in sleeves i gave it a 7 outta 10 in my book on toughness.
Mostly all other kits ive installed were between a 4 and 5 but then again i used jack stands and a garage heater hehehe. id like to show a diagram why long arms are better but in short they give ur suspension more leverage and make ur cycle more vertical like it was stock but the bigger the spring you use the more it moves the cycle to a 45 degree angle makin a very stiff and uncontrollable ride. so if you need any info ive definitly done my homework and can fill you in on a bunch of stuff.
later all happy wheeling
jeff
