Everyone's gonna flame me on this one so I'm ready. ;)
If it's terribly muddy I'll be having a short day tomorrow. I'm a big wuss when it comes to mud. I'm more into rockcrawling, can't wait to move back out west. The forecast only called for .5" of rain today, and The Badlands has a lot of sandy soil so it'll hopefully drain off. The "trucks only" area has a lot of areas that don't have much mud at all, even when the rest of the park is a mud pit.
Are we all planning some sorta Q-Tec member group photo? I can bring my tripod if so.
 21.4 hours!

This thing's my daily driver and I ain't made of money. Being a mechanic in the Army I saw the direct effects of mud on vehicles. If she were a trailer queen I'd prolly run it like it was stolen and no give damn what happens. Everyone'll get a chance to meet Baja Bob tomorrow. He is a hoot to watch wheel cuz he don't care about nothin'! :D
Payton- maybe sometime over the winter we could arrange a trip down south, perhaps in Hoosier NF?

I'll start a Hoosier NF thread in the "Trail Rides" section. I was out by Combs this past weekend hiking. Saw a whole fleet of decked out Jeeps rolling through. There were definitely gettin it!

Yeah??...well, I am looking forwards to the mud. My Jeep is also my daily driver. :D
Mud doesnt break things, it's the driver who breaks things while they are in the mud, and dont know how to take their foot off the long skinny pedal. tongue.gif
Dont worry, we will take it easy on you, the first time, after that.....LOOK OUT! ;) :D

for those going Saturday, what CB channel are you going to be running. The PORC, purdue offroad club, is going sunday and I figure for 5 bucks more I could get the 2 day package and do a little bit of wheeling on saturday with you guys too, that is if it's alright with you guys?

I like channel 4 personally.

yeah, usually 4, but, if there is already traffic on that channel, we usually switch it to 8.

Speaking of excited.... aren't we down to like, 19.9 hours or something? :D
Are we there yet???
Okay, this may be a stupid question... but what the hell, here goes...
1) I have two people that want to come ride along..., it means that I have to put my back seat back in... but its not really a safety problem is it?
2) I have a CB, with no antenna... is it necessary to try to get it working tonight? I know it would be nice to have, but I dont want to rush the mount job.
3) Where should I mount the flag? I know everyone will tell me to put it on before I leave my house in the morning smile.gif ... but where is the best place to mount it? Just in one of the holes in the rear bumper where the plastic ends used to be?
I think thats it for now smile.gif

safety shouldnt be an issue with back seat passengers, on a TJ. It has the roll bar over the rear seat, which is required for passengers at the Badlands.
CB would be real nice to have on the trail, that way you know without a doubt that the person, or rather Jeep, in front of you is clear of an obstacle, before you proceed on the same obstacle.
Get it working if at all possible.
Your flag has to be 2 feet over the top of the vehicle. This just changed not too long ago, you can ask Coynster how much fun it is to drill your bumper in the parking lot.
I just usually attach my flag, at the Badlands, to my CB antenna with a couple of zip ties.
any more questions I can help answer??? :D

Not really. A rollover on rocky terrain could be bad, but I see back seat riders all the time. I just have em wear a seatbelt when I take people.
2) I have a CB, with no antenna... is it necessary to try to get it working tonight? I know it would be nice to have, but I dont want to rush the mount job. Don't sweat it. We'll just be making fun of you on the CB behind your back J/K:D You'll be alright w/o one this time I would think. The last few times I've been out there I haven't even turned my CB on until breaktime to listen to other folks.
3) Where should I mount the flag? I know everyone will tell me to put it on before I leave my house in the morning smile.gif ... but where is the best place to mount it? Just in one of the holes in the rear bumper where the plastic ends used to be? Does your flag have a stick/mast w/it? I never let the flag out until once I get there, the wind beats the he77 outta it.
I think thats it for now smile.gif [/Q]
