Sorry pine ppl, I have to back out of this one.

Another local toy run. This one's for Abused Children. I can't miss it. I've gone every year.
I MAY be able to shoot down after the run and meet you all for some wings a beer though.

Have fun.

I may be getting new leaf springs this saturday, and if I do, I will be installing them till the wee hours of the morning, so I can go to the Pines,(thats if Santa comes early this year), but reguardless, wether I have my lift on or not, I will be there with those burn disks. So anyone who wants one, be there. :D

I just got off the phone with the project manager for the development my company is doing the electrical work on and it looks like I'll be working both Saturday and Sunday now!
Seems that PECO is having a scheduling problem at this time so we have to get panels hung on 8 houses by MONDAY!!! Along with all the other work we had scheduled for this development it's gonna be a long weekend, at least all my OT gets paid out in cash!

BTW who all is going on sunday?Salary is based on ability and expirience but most of our Helpers are in the 12-15/hr range. I definately need some who knows what they are doin when it comes to rough wires on new construction...Its a Ryan Homes project so they are cookie cutter houses with 2 days on a rough and 1 for a final

The majority of stuff that we have right now is in the Avondale/West Grove area, if you'd be interested in picking up some weekend, and I have occasional 3pm to 3am commercial work in Newark DE at a Honda dealership thats remodelling.

We are not wheeling in Philly, but in the pines, somewhere where Mike Tarsia knows about, but **** is going. should be fun. but that friday and Saturday nights, we will be drinking and carrying on. You should come out. I heard about you Piney, but never was up in that area to meet you.

I was being a bit sarcastic, as usual. Walt’s a funny guy and I’m sure he will get you all in lots of trouble. I see hard jail time in your futures. LMAO!
I don’t think anyone will make it down here to the pines on Saturday, but if you do maybe I’ll run into you. Have a good time and don't get caught drinking in the state forest.

Definately a good time. One of these days, I'll get off my butt and put the CJ back together.

Meantime... Nick, you knew goin into that hole you most likely werent' gonna make it. I mean, the SOA, 35" MTR shod YJ didn't, and dug it up really well in the process of getting stuck, you thought that you could? LOL Hope the rug come clean.

Ken- tried e-mailing you, could be my MSN is FUBAR again... it does that sometimes. If that's the case, you'll get it eventually, if not, shoot me a message, either over2land@msn, or @yahoo....

Jennette... ready for the lockers and lift yet?

well looks like you all had a good time. i managed to hit bambi's dad (solid 8 point)and was never able to find him after tracking about a mile across 5 different properties. hopefully he is still kicking, i feel bad about it. especially waking up the hung over guy across the road to get permission to track through his property at 9 in the morning. :(

Opinions? For her jeep, I'd say, probably a tru-track. Cheaper than a selectable (ARB, OX) but still pretty much invisable on the street. They work well and should be fine strength wise up till about 33's (Detroit says 32's). For mostly pines trips, they should serve well. Friend of mine in Va ran them years ago, it was neat to watch him with a wheel in the air, you could actually see it transfer power from wheel to wheel as they spun.

It must have been your MSN messin up, I didnt get the mail yet. Then again my computer is working on taking a big dump on me, think I have to wipe it and start over again.

This trip is looking more and more expensive all the time. I'll put in for a new cell phone tomorrow (Pic #4 is me looking for my work cell phone right after it made a graceful swan dive into the muck for those who werent there). Cleaned the heep today, the exhaust leak is 100 times worse now, think I got some mud in the cat somehow, acts like it is clogged. Makes a hell of a noise and feels like its hitting a rev limiter at about 3000 in first. I'm skered to check fluids, but thats tomorrows battle.

I hate to say it... but to me wheeling and cold are not good friends.

I tend to stay inside by a fireplace sipping hot toddies when it's cold out.

Either that or modding the Jeep in the garage with the heaters on.

Yes I have to admit it was my fault I said I hadn't gotten stuck yet, but except for my truck acting up a little right now with the steering its all good.

60thAnvJeep
11-14-2002, 04:59 PM
Bill, are trying to tell me that you wouldn't be any help to me if I were to lift the jeep? I can't believe that one smile.gif

So I should only have to put the one locker in the front and not have to worry about the back.. Right?

Ok, I will definitely look into those tru-track if they are cheaper than a selectable (ARB, OX) and the Lockright (since I have seen what they can go over...where I currently get stuck at).
But why would I care if they were invisible on the street?

Question...if I was to go do a 4" lift and would put 35" tires I would have to upgrade the lockers or would I be able to get ones that would be able to work just as well after the lift?

Jennette

kwrangln
11-14-2002, 06:45 PM
Jennette, you have the 6 cylinder right? Pretty sure ya do. I didnt ever find out if you had the automatic or not, so I dont know what gears you have, but I remember you saying it had the dana 44 rear axle. For a temp improvement, throw a lockrite in there. Since the lockrite doesnt replace the gear carrier, iit will be reusable once you get the lift and change gears. If you go the trutrack route, you might as well do the gear change first so that you dont end up wasting money. Why care if it is invisable on the street? Rear lockers have a nasty habit of pointing you in direction you dont want to go when the pavement is slippery, such as snow. When you do get the lift and 35's, you will need to change gear ratios to match or you will be rather unhappy with the acceleration on the road (I remember you leaving me in the dust on the way to the store so I know you like to cruise that sucker). So in one fell swoop, lift, tires, wheels, gears, and carriers, could be an expensive weekend.

I usually spend most of my time on this thing on the tech board, and since this thread is getting kind of long and old, try there or just drop me an e-mail if I can help any.

I didn't say that I wouldn't be any help, but after seeing what's really involved in doing a lift on a TJ, I just mearly stated that it would cost if there was a next time for me to do a lift on one. smile.gif

Jennette, call Tim Hagar for your RE stuff. He is real close to you plus he is offering sick deals on their stuff. Tell him Zach V. from Iron in the Pines 4WD club sent ya.

I would be glad to help you out with the install, as I am only 20 minutes from you, but I don't them for free anymore because they are a PITA, plus you really have to know what you are doing. Ask some people what pinion angle is or what the proper torque value is for the bolts and they have no idea. Remember, it is your life and others you drive with.
