I've been interested in the Sirius/XM stuff for a while and ran across this great deal.
PanaPacific is promoting a new line intended for truckers call Brix. They are also the makers of the Delphi line so the quality is there.

To boost sales of their new Brix receiver, Pana-Pacific (http://www.panapacific.com/oem/detailproduct.cfm?ProductID=355) is offering it plus either a home, mobil, or car docking station for free with one year of Sirius service. Here's how it works;
1) Dial 1-866-818-3277
2) You will either get Maria or Maria's voicemail at PanaPacific
3) Tell her you want the free Brix Streamer deal (if she asks for a codeword, it is "Friends of Sirius")
4)She will fax you and order form good for the reciever and one of the following; the Professional Vehicle Dock, Standard Vehicle Dock, or the Home Dock (see PanaPacific's site for descriptions). You can also order either vehicle docking station and include the Home Dock for $39.
5) You must order a years subscription to Sirius and can either pay for a whole year at once (1 year + $15 activation fee = $157.45) and get a month for free or, pay for a year billed semi annually ($155.40 + $15 activation fee = $170.40).
6) This deal ends 122/20/03.
Professional Docking Station (http://www.panapacific.com/oem/detailproduct.cfm?ProductID=358) http://www.panapacific.com/oem/item_images/Streamer%20Pro%20Docking%20Kit.jpg
Standard Docking Station (http://www.panapacific.com/oem/detailproduct.cfm?ProductID=359) http://www.panapacific.com/oem/item_images/Streamer%20Vehicle%20Dock%20Kit.jpg
Home Docking Station (http://www.panapacific.com/oem/detailproduct.cfm?ProductID=361) http://www.panapacific.com/oem/item_images/Streamer%20Home%20Docking%20Kit.jpg
LMK if any of you get this deal!

Keith- Where did you get this info, and is this all the info you have? I'm seriously considering this. Only problem is the up front cost. I've been considering getting the XM Roady and an add on FM modulator. When it's all said and done I'll have about $150ish in that set up, but I was planning on spending some of the cabbage santa brings and this deal ends on 12-20.
Also wondering if the professional docking station comes with an FM modulator. It says "Wireless FM transmitter". Wonder if it's the same thing?
Are you going to get this? I'll definately have either this set up, or the XM Roady by the end of the year. I've ben leaning to XM over Sirius though just for the cost. No one can give me a valid reason why one is better than the other, so I don't want to spend an extra $36 a year for no reason.

Well, to be honest, I kind of ran across this on another board I frequent. I investigated it and found it to be legit. I've seen various rebates on the hardware but this is the first one where the hardware is free. The XM vs. Sirius dabate is rather heated on other bb's but from what I've gathered, some XM channels have commercials every 6-12 songs where as Sirius has ZERO commercials. In addition, Sirius has live feeds of major sports (NBA,NFL,NHL) and XM doesn't.
As for what I'm going to do? I want the Pro Dock (which does have the FM modulator) and the Home Dock (for the additional $39) and will go with the semiannual plan IF I can scrape the green before 12/20. Then I'll just hardwire the power supply and be good to go.

That sounds like a good plan. I'm gonna try to do the same except for the home dock. We have digital cable which includes Music Choice, so I really don't see the need for a home hook-up. Does Sirius carry NCAA sports? Really all I would care about is NCAA football.
Got an extra detail coming up on 12-11. Might be just in time smile.gif Of course maybe we could take our Moderator pay and put it towards the kit smile.gif
Any chance you could link me to the original info?

Supposedly this offer is no longer good.
"I called maria and she said they no longer have the online deal. the only way you can get that deal now is to be an employee for a sirius purchasing company."
I haven't verified this. If you get the form, I'd like a copy! TIA!

Some more info for the debate...
XM launched first and that helped, but you should know that XM doesn't have 1 million listeners right now. Currently that have IIRC ~600k+ and their goal is 1 million in 2003 and I'll concede they just hit their target especially with the introduction of the Roady and Commander. XM is annoying with their 16 character limit. BPM listeners are very familiar with that limit as the remix title is often cut off. Don't get me wrong, I like XM (especially Cinemagic), but Sirius is a better fit for me (right now). The dance/trance streams are very good on Sirius. Of course one advantage Sirius offers is free live internet streaming (for music streams) so people can try before they buy unlike XM which has prerecorded clips with commercials omitted (why is that important? so you can see whether or not the amount and variety of commercials may/not annoy you).
I'll also concede XM has the better hardware right now, but it's all coming from Delphi. Kenwood offers a 2nd gen tuner, the H2A and Audiovox's PNP1 are 2nd gen. The PNP2 and Streamer are new PNPs that are coming out with the next month. The boombox and JVC's units are supposed to come out preChristmas, but I'll believe it when I see it.

I think its funny (having an installers perspective), that they are giving away Serius and still not selling it. I install about 3 XM systems a day, sometimes more or less, but i hardly ever do a Serius install. Just seems funny to me.

What seems funny to me is that you install the stuff but yet don't know how to spell it. It is Sirius, not Serius. Having worked in the retail environment for a long time, the reason you install more XM stuff is probably because your company is in bed with XM so your sales people push it over Sirius. DirectTV and Dish do the same thing to attract new customers.

Well I just called and left a message for her to call me back. I guess we'll see.
Jeff if you happen to get an order form, can ya fax me too? smile.gif
If this falls through I'm gonna get an XM Roady.
Forgot to mention that if you're seriously interested in Sirius ( :D ), Kenwood is offering free Sirius hardware with the purchase of a Kenwood Sirius ready head unit.

I looked at both Sirius and XM at Best Buy and did my usual anal studies and chose Sirius. Didn't get nearly the deal yzer shows in this thread, but I spent couple hundred bucks and was set using existing Sony head unit and FM modulator. Works well after a lot of wiring.
Have a buddy with XM, and he wishes he had Sirius. You don't realize how nice it is with ZERO commercials, and I think Sirius has better stations (streams) overall. Nothing scientific here, just my opinion. Sirius is also a bit more expensive, but both pretty equal in the long run.
The hardware will improve, and needs a bit of improvement, but it works well. I like knowing every song/artist, and reception is amazing in the middle of nowhere, which is where I find myself quite often here in TX. Antenna does work through soft top, too, and that's a good thing for theft.
Kind of like when we (older folks) switched from cassettes to CDs (remember 8-tracks?). You're just not going back!
More stations, music on demand - it's all coming, and I'm really pleased with this satellite radio.

If you guys manage to make this deal work some how, I might be interested too. How much would a kit like that normally cost?
Does anyone know if the Bob and Tom Show (http://www.bobandtom.com) is on XM or Sirius?
