My Alpine CDA-9815 CD/MP3 player is on it's way via UPS, and will be here in a few days. It has a 60W internal amp (27W RMS), and says it has to be wired like a normal amp with a 10-gauge wiring kit.

Does anyone have this amp or experience wiring one of these? I'm going to pick up a 10-gauge wiring kit tomorrow, and try to install it this weekend.

I have the last years model, and yes you do need to have a heavy gauge wire going to the rear. I didn't go 10, but I went 12 since it was the same size as what was coming out of the unit. I still bypassed the amp and went with the external amp that I have.

Has anyone actually hooked up the internal amp?
