Can anyone explain how to remove dash bezel on a 2001 Wrangler to swap out stock stereo for a new stereo. Thought I would ask, I would really hate to break anything.
Thanks.

You need to pop the defroster vent screen off of the top of the dashboard, and there are two screws holding the center console that will need to be removed. Then you can pull the center dash console out from the top (it is clipped in at the bottom) and have access to the screws that hold the stereo in place. There is also a bolt in the back of the stereo that needs to be removed.

The stock stereos are a little taller than the standard DIN stereos, so you may need an adapter kit to fit a replacement in the same slot.

BEST SITE EVER

it leaves out the bolt behind the radio because it's for 2000 but everything else is the same. You will need to buy a dash adapter and a wire harness for bestbuy or what ever. The adapter is DIFFERENT than the one in a 2000. your year has a round hole in the front dash pannel. the later years have square.

good luck with the bolt 2 cause it's a pain in the a55! just ned it and pul and pull.. you won't ever need it agian.
