How can I check the continuity of my cb antenna mount? I've neveer really worked with auto electronics.

Using an ohmmeter, make sure the mount itself has good continuity (low Ohms) between it and the Jeep chassis or tub. Make sure that there is NO continuity between the mount and the center threaded piece that the antenna threads into. smile.gif

What Jerry said.

Also, you can do it with a beeper too, just listen for teh beep, if it iis there then you have a good connection.

Without Coax in place, check the center of teh connector to teh outter surface, there should be no connection. If there is then there is a shorted condition that requires attention.

Check the coax too while you are at it. Center to center should give you a reading, center to outter shell should not.

Disconnect the coax from the CB if you try to check the connection with the coax in place. No damage will happen but it can give you a false reading.

The antenna itself will give you a shorted condition.

Luck,
