I HAVE A 00XJ. THE FRONT DRIVER SPEAKER KEEPS SHORTING OUT. I HAVE REPLACED IT THREE TIMES, STILL FRIED. ANY IDEAS WHAT ELSE COULD CAUSE SPEAKERS TO BLOW?? WIRING HARNESS?? fUSES?? ANYTHING??

Put a resistor on the power lead if its getting too much power. Is it getting too much power? Or is it grounding out (touching metal)?

Speakers blow from too much power (volume) from the amplifier. Conceivably from too much distortion from the amplifier but that is extremely unlikely. The bottom line is to either buy different speakers with more power handling capabilities or more simply, just turn the volume down. smile.gif

You may also want to have the radio checked to make sure that it's not the cause of your problem.
