YJ Front Speakers

I have seen a couple of write ups of how to install the front speakers, but I have also seen that you can do it with out folding the windshield down. Does anyone know how this is possbile or what steps to take?

I found some plate speakers that would fit with the factory grills or I can get some with their own grill it doesn't really matter I just would like some sound from the front. I have a sound bar and two 5 1/4's in boxes in the back and just need some more sound to silence the wind :D

Yes you can get them out without taking the windshield down. Just stick your hand up there... look for the 4 little bolts. Take those off.. and slide the speaker out. Sounds a lot easier than it really is, and the drivers side sux. Have fun.

I agree with mullet-it can be done but it is a pain...getting them out is the easy part. It is tough trying to get the little nuts back on the studs once the new speaker is mounted. I was scared when I was trying to place the new speakers in...very cautious when placing the speaker back on the bolt studs-speakers don't work too well when they have a hole in them. But you said you were installing plate speakers-a little more letal to work with around the outside of the speaker.
