this is what i started with http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff303/jbullfrog63/100_1594.jpg

I decided i wanted to trim up the fenders for some added tire clearence and a meaner look. I started by removing the flares and drawing on some lines where i thought it would look good cut at. I used a cutoff wheel to start most of the cuts just enough to get a sawzall blade in. You could use the cutoff wheel for the whole cut if you have spare time. http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff303/jbullfrog63/100_1597.jpg
I bought some 1" round tubing from local hardware store ($22). I welded up one end of the tube, filled it with sand, then welded up the other end. I did this to keep it from kinking shut while it was in the tube bender. After getting the tubing in the bender i decided to not bend it completely round so i bent it in 2 separate bends http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff303/jbullfrog63/100_1596.jpg I then welded a 3/16" strip of steel ($Free) to the end of the pipe for the grill support i cut out. With that welded to the pipe i clamped the pipe to the fender and bolted up the new support to the grill, trimmed up the fender some more to match the bends in my pipe, and began welding the pipe to the fender http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff303/jbullfrog63/100_1598.jpg
Once fully welded to the fender i started grinding the welds smooth. After my fender was cut i had to do something for turn signals. I bought 2 amber LED lights from a local tractor supply co ($24). I used a 3" hole saw to cut into my grill, after measureing of course, put the lights in and wired them up to the original turn signal wiring http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff303/jbullfrog63/100_1600.jpg After that i welded up the 3 holes left on the fender from the old flare http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff303/jbullfrog63/100_1602.jpg As you might notice i only have one fender done. Other fender should be completed late tomorrow. Work got in the way over the weekend. I hope to have the body work and paint done by this weekend. I'll try to post some more pics as i make more progress. Hope you like it.

Not hard at all just took a few measurements on where i wanted them. Drilled a pilot hole with a small drill bit, then took a 3" hole saw to it. They sit in a rubber grommit that pops right into the 3" hole. Then just tie the new wires into the existing turn signal whires. Just makes you a little nervous cutting into a perfectly fine body panel.
