Morning folks...looked back on the board and didn't see this subject, so forgive me if it's been done recently. 94YJ hardtop, 4.0H.O. automatic...had for 3 years..bone stock and starting the neverending process of upgrades. Not building a rock crawler, daily drive/ranch jeep... needs new rotors. Wondering if anyone has experience with aftermarket rotors and pads or should I stick with OEM. Just replaced starter with a Mean Green and gotta say...so far...so good...lotta torque. Looking at FlowKooler water pumps in near future. New to the board and appreciate the info.

Welcome to the board. I don't know the answer here but I wondered about those rotors too. These guys will know.

Curious also..I have replaced rotors twice on my 94yj but with stock OEM's...I did once have bad calipers..they were binding and getting things pretty darn hot while driving down the road, all is well now tho.

Honestly I think the stock ones are sufficient, I never had a problem with mine even on 36s. Are they better, yes, but, are you really going to notice the Jeep stopping in 90 feet instead of 100 feet, probably not. Its a Jeep not a sports car, for a Jeep I think the money spent on slotted rotors would be enjoyed more if you spend it on something else.
I would keep the stock rotors. I would upgrade the pads, a nicer premium pad will fade less during those harder stops.
Also if you've never changed your brake fluid, you'd be amazed at the difference that can make. (Its supposed to be changed every 30,000, how many miles do you have? :D )

Just had a full brake job about 2 years ago and since about 20k miles. Left front started to hang and got super hot. Rotors are both at limit...130k on jeep. Looks like new rotors and pads are in my future. New brake fluid was 20k or 2 years ago. Well thanks guys...I know not every aftermarket part is better than OEM but I do want to start replacing the old with best I can get cause I'm keeping this ole jeep for a long time.

To continue the Q--- what about a disc brake conversion for the rear? I know you guys will say an axle swap would be just as much or something- but that's not what i'm asking.

But I do think you can steal the disc brake parts off a Grand Cherokee Dana 35 and they will fit on there. And rear discs are better than drum anyday, espeacially with the big tires.
