Hey guys, I was wondering, do any of you know about a turbo, or a supercharger for the 2.4L powertec engine? I really hate the lack of power, after having the 258ci 4.2L in my YJ. So...please, and thank you for info.

I dont know of anything for it, but my guess is that it would cost the same amount to just swap in a 4.0L.

Afterall its a Jeep, not a muscle car.

Have you thought about regearing the axles?
Maybe upgrade the intake and exhaust a little?

What year?
What size tires?

yeah mine was pretty bad when i first put on 31's....but i had to realize a few things

-i wasnt shifting at 3000, more like 2500

-my speedo was off, so i was goin faster than it said i was

after i added an airaid intake and a aftermarket exhaust, it got quite a bit more power, but once i save up for 33's ill regear my diffs

also keep mind stick vs auto makes ALL the difference in a 4 banger....in fact the manual says if you have an auto 4 banger, its not reccomened to plow snow with it lol

Sometimes you can grab that set pretty cheap and it would be a dedicated vehicle for it...

Dave, I'm not sure what gears are in it, it's a 2004, with 245's, I'm not sure what size that is in inches. But I'm working on getting a cold air intake, and I'm not sure what exhaust to get.
