here is the new one

So my question is does this have to come out?

This is what i found in the dan manual

So I assume that in the old version the black piece is the seal and what i have left in the axle is the guide. and in my new seal their just combined into one piece.
I don't really understand the picture in the manual. If i have to take the piece left in the axle out whats a good way to get it out?

I'm pretty sure those pieces stay, the seals just butt up against those pieces.

the old seal pressed inside the piecies that are in there.
the new seals are the same diameter as the peice thats in there but if i take those out it looks like the seal will go too far back in the bore.
those new seals look like they should press into something so maybe i should take those pieces out and just press the new seal flush and the press fit will keep it from moving back.
but what were you saying that the carrier would hold the seals in?
