Git yer mind out of the gutter! tongue.gif Sorry to mislead or get ya'll excited, but I got your attention, didnt I? :D
How big is your Hi-Lift? 60" or 48" and is there any difference in the models as far as capacity?
I am looking around for one and I found a Genuine Hi-Lift one at Tractor Supply here in town for $57. Its a 60", and I think it said only 2 tons on it, but that doesnt sound right??
So I am wondering what everyone is using?
Thanks,
Dave

48" high lift.... Fits a lot easier into a Jeep.
I've never needed more jack than 48", but I've needed every inch of that jack at times.

I found a "Big Red" jack like the Hi Lift at North tool and Equipment. 48" for $34. It'll do.

48" for me - wouldn't fit inside the Jeep otherwise. If I had large tires, I might opt for a 60", but you lose some capacity at the top of the 60" jack - I think it's only rated for something like 2600 lbs, but only for the last 12 inches.
Something else to consider is where your jacking points are. I switched to rock crawler style bumpers a while back, and my hi-lift nose will not fit under the bumper any more. I suspect I could use the D-ring shackles to lift with, but have not really tried it - it would result in me using more of the jack though, which means I will not be able to lift as high. Otherwise, I will need to get a bumper lift, which will also result in some loss of lift height...

48" and it payed it self off the first time i used it back before the 33s i had just put the 4in on and i thought i was all cool so i went to flex threw this ditch and didn't really see that it was muddy and wet .... lets just say that the high-lift saved me there

got me a 48" "farm jack" from harbor freight for $30. It rides inside the jeep (out of the mud and weather) and its worked great everytime ive used it in the last year and a half.

I'm with Olivsta500, 48" Farm Jack from Harbor Freight, mounted behind the back seat, works great.

I've seen those farm jacks at Harbor freight and like the price but they seem really heavy. Anyone know how they compare weight wise (jack weight - not lifting capacity) to a regular high-lift?

ive picked up my jack (duh) and ive picked up and carried my friends hi lifts and I cant tell a difference in the weight

Mine is....oh, your talking about high lifts.....sorry.
48" otherwise it would be too wide for where it is currently mounted.
BTW, that Swedish stuff really works!!! :D

48" here. Saved me before and I will never leave home without one. While crossing a stream, I got buried. My skidplate was setting on the bottom with all four tires spinning. Use the highlift to jack my jeep back up and I was able to get out.
