my 4 wheel drive stoped working this past weekend out on the trail. i just bought a 94 yj about 2 months ago been working up till recently light wont come on for it and the back tires are the only thing spinning when i got stuck just getting into jeep and dont know much about wiring transfer case or any of that any help would be apreciated thx

There are many things that could be wrong. The most likely culprits are the vaccuum lines, the shifter actuator on the axle or the vaccuum switch on the transfer case. Here is a diagram of the system.

You might start by finding the line on the intake manifold and make sure you are getting vaccuum there.

The vacuum system in the jeeps suck. I'd look into buying the 4 x 4 posi lock system. It's part number 52435.

thx for all they help a full day of checking everything and finally changing my front diff fluid made it work
