Short of buying a new one, which I can get a HD one from skyjacker for $115. I found some HD ones on ebay for under $100.

1. Should I remove it and see if I can hammer it back straight?

2. Re-measure and align and leave it be?

3. Other?

I hung up on a rock and it is bent upward just slightly. I don't notice any difference on the highway, but you can tell it's bent.

Why not just go with another stock one? That way you could just do a single TRE, rather than the whole system.

I have a feeling you can use a ZJ tie rod...

Not sure how the price works out over your side but it is stronger and has the same TRE's...

Mine is also bent slightly.

1. Check alignment and drive on.

2. Check junkyard. Locally they are $35 with good tie rod ends.

Ok, what the heck is TRE? I'm sure it's obvious, but I just don't get it this morning.

A new stock tie rod costs nearly as much as the ones on ebay that are HD. Only problem there, is that I want to make sure it'll fit on the existing ends.

OHHHHH.....I just got it. Tie Rod Ends. duh

I measured last night, it indeed brought the toe in too much. I loostened the ends and couldn't turn that dang rod with two sets of channel locks. It was late so I left it alone. Not sure if it's just siezed up or if the bent part is binding up.

If you wheel, do yourself the favor and get a HD tie rod, I got one from Big Daddy Offroad for like $80 and you just reuse your stock TRE (tie rod ends)

maybe it was the name "Big Daddy." It sure sounds like a good name. . . but maybe it didn't help :D

$80? That sounds like a good thing to have. The one that goes from knuckle to knuckle? Reuse the stock ends?

hmmmm. . . sounds good.
