I am looking into getting a set of tires soon, I am looking at Dunlop Mud Rovers either 31x10.5R15 or 32x11.5R15 or my other tire choice was Interco Super Swamper LTB Bias Ply Mud terrain 31x11.5-15.... The trails are pretty thick mud and I need one that will bite good, anybody have any advice? Thanks...

I ran the Dunlops for a while, then sold them to a buddy who is still running them. They work great, they are cheap, and the treadlife is excellent, they last a long time.
That being said I hated my swampers. The LTB however do perform better in the mud and off-road period. Being a bias ply tire they are thicker everywhere so it is harder to puncture them, which is always good. However they aren't real street friendly, but the tread wear is decent for a swamper. The Dunlops will last you longer though. The LTBs are a bias ply tire though, so be prepared for an interesting ride from the flat spots on cold mornings after it sits overnight. Usually a mile or so and the tire will round back out.

I would go with the dunlop mud rovers between those 2 tires. Most super swampers arent real street friendly at all. Except the trxxus, those are pretty on road and off.

I picked the Dunlops over the stb's probably on price even tho I wanted to go tall and skinny with the 34/10.50's. Local guys kept talking 12.50's, 12.50's like it's beyond cool and mandatory or something and I went along. Though I sacrificed quite a bit of trackwidth over 10.5's, I'm happy. Good deep treadblocks and noisy like a mud should. I have a/t's for street anyway

You're really looking at two different ends of the spectrum. The Dunlop is a more street friendly tire with some mud capability (radial, less aggressive tread) whereas the Swanper is a more mud friendly tire with a modicum of streetability (bias, more aggressive tread). If you spend most of your time on the street, the Dunlop is a better choice.

If it's a daily driver, I'd go for the Dunlops. If this is a Jeep mostly for trails that you only drive on the streets once in a while, Swampers.

Dunlops muds would probably be one of my last choices in tires. Sure they wear well, but they only do that because the rubber used to make them is about as soft as granite. Hard compounds make for long life, but crappy traction. They also run fairly small for their stated size and a bit wider than most. A bit on the noisy side compared to a BFG, maybe a bit louder than an MTR. Mud traction probalby on par with an MTR. 2 ply sidewall. Mayve if they were free, but thats about the only reason I'd consider em.

with a 4" lift should I go with the 31's or 32's? In the Dunlops

4" lift, I'd go 33s.
You always want to go bigger, you'll be kicking yourself for not spending the extra $20-30 now to go 33s.
I know 33s leads to re-gearing and such, but you can do that later...
Just get what you really want the first time around, otherwise you'll be sorry.

I would go with the 33" pro comps. a nice on and off road tire. the tread life is great on them and they are really great in mud/rocks. i kno that wasnt either of your choices. but just something for you to look into.

I have to disagree. I have pro comp muds now. The dont wear good on the street at all. Now dont get me wrong they are awesome in mud and on rocks. But if you drive them on the road they wont last you long. They are extremely quiet though. One of the more quiet mt tires. I would buy them again, if they didnt see any pavement. They would be the best tire ever if they would have a longer tread life. I have only had mine around year and im at about 50 percent tread.

I've got 33" X-terrains on mine.. at about 50% tread left... has almost been a year.. They wear fast as hell. But I liked how they looked...and they tear up some mud.
Do the trxus mt's last very long? Vs the MTR? I'm deciding on my next tire as well and GY MTR and the Trxus MT are the two I'm going back and forth with. Not to change the subject.. If you want to PM instead that would be great.
