Ok, I just noticed today when I was washing the heep that one of the tires looks like it is starting to "blister" between the treads. It is just a real thin skin of rubber, but nonetheless, it is blistering. It isn't doing it all over the tire just in about an 8 inch long spot.

So, should I go out and get new tires, or just ignore it and see what happens?

By the way they are Mickey Tompson baja claw's.

I will post a pic when I get some time.

Any chance they're under warranty?

Sounds like tread separation, which is a manufacturer's defect. Even without a warranty, I would contact the place you bought them. If they can't help you out, contact MT. They may or may not replace the faulty tire, but it is worth a try. IMO

I dont take chances on tires to much depends on them. Get a new one an use the other for a spare, if you cant get it replaced under warranty.

Sorry for the crappy pic, but I think it gets the idea across. It is only doing it on one tire, and it is inside the tread in about the same spot on the inside. It does not go around the whole tier just certain spots. But it looks like it starts to bubble and then it looks like popped bubbles. Almost like there was air in the rubber when they molded the tire. It also looks like it is at the bottom radius of the "lug".

Do you think it could just be a scrape, from something rough you might have rolled over?

That appears to be just on the lug of the tire, if so I wouldn't worry about it.

I wouldnt worry about it either. Just looks like little rock rash or some sort of scrape. I

move the tire to the rear just to be safe. blow out at 60 in the front is not fun

I appreciate the input. I'm going to rotate the tires this weekend, and see if I can find it on any of the others.

Yeah, that's definately not tread separation. Could you have possibly run over some sort of chemical that would have reacted with the rubber? Like at a gas station or in a parking lot?

I'd put it on the back as mentioned and keep an eye on it.

I'd put it on the back as mentioned and keep an eye on it. Yeah, but it varies all over the tire. It is on opposite sides. I dunno, but I noticed it on 2 more tires. I think it was a molding defect. But I can deffinately say I will never buy these tires again.
