Tranny Size

I was thinking of swapping the drivetrain out of an XJ into my YJ but I didn't know if it would work. Such as the motor, Tranny, and T-case.
Is the Transmission the same size as one in a YJ/TJ or is it longer?

I figures instead of swapping all different makes of parts it might be easier and cheaper to do it this way.

I'm not sure yet. Probably an auto but whatever i can get and/or fit.
