I have a '99 TJ with a 4 inch lift and 32's on it. Recently when I drive above 60 or so if I hit a pothole or bump in the road, what feels like the front end shakes and I have to slow down or pull over and get back up to speed. I never upgraded my steering stabilizer and have read that the stock stabilizer isn't adequate especially when running oversized tires. Does anyone think this is my problem? If so, is this something that I can do by myself or should I send it out? Everything else seems tight from what I can tell. Thanks.

Could be, but an alignment and proper balance cured mine. my lift came with a new stabilizer and when i put the lift on is when i got death wobble. So when i got new tires and wheels i got an alignment at the same time and it hasn't happened since.

Something is loose or out of alignment in your front suspension. You should be able to drive your Jeep without a steering stabilizer and not have death wobble...

You don't need a steering stabilizer at all, its not the problem. Sometimes a steering stabilizer can mask a problem, but you have another issue. As already mentioned either your alignment is out, or you have something loose in the front end. Jack the front axle up and start checking for play in things.
