Hello, If your jeep is running normal, it might just be that the gas cap was not screwed on tight enough (3 clicks). I think that code will clear after a certain number of start-ups.

I was getting that code and the p0442 (small leak). The dealer told me if it kept returning that I may have a leak in the vacuum pump.

I ended up changing my gas cap and the problem fixed itself after a week or so.

I am sure more people will give you a better explanation.
I hope that helps a little.

P0442 is the EVAP small leak code, which many times is just a gas cap.

P0455 is EVAP large leak code, which still can be a gas cap, but normally its something more. However gas caps are cheap, so it couldn't hurt to try one.

Basically all newer vehicles pull a vacuum on the gas tank to suck out the fumes, for emmission reasons. Your Jeep can not pull a vacuum on the tank for some reason.

-Could be a vacuum line under the hood broken.
-Purge valve, either electrical problem to it, or actually a faulty valve
-Bad gas cap
-Bad seal on the gas tank, filler neck, fuel pump, etc.
-Could be another reason it can't pull vacuum.

Its not anything that will keep the Jeep from running, or anything that really hurt it.

I'd try the gas cap, and check around and make sure you don't have any obvisuis vacuum leaks. If you don't find anything, dealers and some shops, have a special smoke machine to find these leaks.

Welcome to the board by the way.
