Is it ok to use Rain-X on soft top windows? Will it damage them? And what is the best, least damaging, way to clean these windows?
Thanks all!!

I would not use Rain-X. You can purchase a cleaner at most boating stores. It is about $15.00 a bottle and it is specifically designed to clean windows like this!

I would not use anything other than plastic cleaner and polish. I use Plexo plastic polish, it helps remove fine scratches and helps repel water.

Agree whole heartedly with above. One of the greatest "sins" that one can do to soft top windows is use Armor All type petro based chemicals...they look good afterwards, but they become more and more brittle each application, then one cold morning SNAP, they break.

To clean them, use a very soggy clean rag, not paper. Paper is made from wood pulp which will do more harm than good. To keep them looking good, I use either NOVUS (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280033037926&category=20606) or Pledge Wipes (http://www.epinions.com/Pledge_Lemon_Wipes). NOVUS can be found at plastic product stores as well as The Container Store. NOVUS will take the scratches down a little bit at a time and the Pledge fills in the scratches for a while and will need to be reaplied for the same effect. Stage 1 of NOVUS is to detract dust.

I use the NOVUS spray and a soft clean cotton sock. You can use water and a sock in a pinch.
