View Full Version : "Fix" for Hardtop Fade

Well I've mentioned this before, but didn't actually have any pictures of it (Admittly these aren't the best of pictures either, but it wasn't exactly sunny today).

If you own a hard top you know it slowly fades. I've seen some people paint them, but thats a fair amount of work, and will just fade again.

While not a permanent solution, I use BlackMagic ProShine on mine.

Here you can see the center section under the window, I haven't wiped down yet, and you can see the faded tan:

If it rains a whole lot the shine seems to last about 2 weeks, when it doesn't rain much, it lasts about 2 months.

I've been doing this to my top for over 2 years now with no ill effects. The only real downside, is that when it does rain, sometimes I get weird streaks on the rear windows, but nothing a little windex won't take care of it.

does that work ok?Don't know, haven't tried it. I would think the ProShine would be better as it is meant for Vinyls and Plastics and such.
