a couple of questions. i'm looking for power steering hoses and radiator hoses. engine is a 78 chevy 350 out of a van. i'm using advanced adapters saddle mount. radiator is aluminum designed for yj 350 in stock location. p/s pump is stock(chevy 350). p/s gear box is original(jeep yj). just want to know what people have used. i have noticed that the area above box is tight and area behind pump is tight.

I took care of it, but BB&A is right. We know the board is a little slow sometimes, but submitting once is enough.

why not just use the stock YJ box?? and leave well enough alone its the same box and will fit with the right bracketry i.e trial and error.radiator hoses are the univeral bend to fit ones at advance auto or auto zone i can get the numbers off the ones in mybeast tommorrow and mail em to you if you like.

oh sorry for the reposts. yeah i planned on using the stock ( yj) box, but there's alittle play in it. could be the u joint or the input shaft. havent looked that at it. i'm using the stock (sbc 350) pump and brackets on the engine. i'll take any part numbers you might have

I'm using a molded upper radiator hose, but I couldn't find what I needed for the lower so I had to use the flexible universal for the lower hose. I bent a coat hanger the way I wanted the hose to run, noted what size the ends needed to be, then talked the guy at Autozone into letting me in the back to look thru the hoses hanging on the wall. I think a molded hose gives a much nicer look to the installation, if you can find what you need. But there's nothing wrong with the universal hoses either.

For PS hoses, the low pressure side you can use just plain old 3/8" transmission cooler hose and hose clamps. For the high pressure side, you can bend and twist the YJ hose to work, but it's never quit right. For mine at least the hard tube on each end of the hose was getting in my way and never was quite right. I finally took my high pressure hose to a hydraulic shop. They didn't have the end fittings I needed so they cut the fittings off my old YJ hose and added standard fittings to them. So now I have custom ends that screw into the pump and the YJ box, but now I can use a standard 3/8" hydraulic hose with -09 male ends between those custom fittings they made for me. If I blow another hose one day, I can pick up a standard hose at Tractor Supply to replace it with.
