I realize this is lame, however, my wife is pregnant and said that she wants Auto-Start for my jeep. (Kinda like the idea of already being warm...not gonna lie)
Anyone have one they would recommend?
Model:
Ease of installation: Personal or Mech
Difficulty if personally installed 1-10
Thanks
Mike and Fam

You have an automatic? I can see why your wife wants one considering you're so far north! Brrrr!

you can do it with a manual, but you would be suckin if you ever left it in gear

I've done it on 4 newer vehicles with different brands, and their generally all good. If you have a decent knowledge of auto electric & the ignition sequence of events (or can just follow the instructions ;) } then you'll be fine. 1-10 for me was about a 3, but it is a little time consuming to do and look right. I took 2.5hrs on previous jobs, but the ease of a simple jeep harness is a little less work. Good Luck!

Is there anything extra required for a 99TJ? i know with my cheby malibu and my buick rendezvous, there were add-ons that i needed to get due to the integrated security (transponder, passlock3, etc)..
i am not sure if i want to have the guys at circuit city do it, or do it myself...

I have remote start on my manual. A canadian company makes the sensors that mount on the shifter and sense neutral. Won't start if not in neutral, park brake on, hood closed, etc.

Forgot to mention I had it installed. I didn't think it was especially difficult to do but I wasn't agile enough to be sticking my head up under the dash bumping up against the pedals etc.

i am not sure if i want to have the guys at circuit city do it, or do it myself... i had mine done at Circuit City. Mine was a DEI and i needed to use one of my keys because mine has that chip in it. Now, they make them with a bypass so no key is needed.
From what I saw, I would def. not do it myself. CC did a great job installing mine!
