Ok Guys smile.gif Im going to try this again. I just completed the nutter bypas on my 89 Wrangler. It went smoother than I thought but need info on what Vac lines to keep, and which to ditch, I have a stock 258 Carter, (I know its crap) but just want to get this thing running before I go to upgrading, have read alot about ign upgrade, MC2100 carbs, yada, yada, yada. That will come second. First I need to know things on the carb such as where is port vacuum/manifold vacuum etc, do I still need the solenoid vac with the nutter complete? Ive seen all the diagrams but I need pics, digitals, whatever. Things like my CTO switch has rubber caps over everything, there isnt vacuum line one attached to it. The sprynet.com website is helpful to a point, but is only good if you have exactly what they have. Hope everyone had a great Xmas. Thanks, Bill

Sorry the link didn't help so much, Bill. I found it invaluable when I was trying to undo/re-do vacuum line screw ups no my 1990.

All the Nutter bypass accomplishes is bypassing the computer control of your spark. You still need all the vacuum switches (eg: the bank of switches on the firewall), the hot air diverter on the air cleaner, the up and downstream air injection and associated vacuum switches, and the CTO which controls the vacuum canister and EGR valve. You also still need to have the carb stepper motor connected and properly adjusted. I think the Chilton Jeep manual has a big section on emissions and trouble shooting. The shop manual also has a long section on emissions and trouble shooting

Sorry I can't be of more help because I went to a TBI system a long time ago.

Really, it depends on what emissions stuff you want to leave attached. The only thing you NEED to run is one from a ported source on the carb to the vac. advance on the dist and one from the PCV to a manifold vac port on the carb.

If you plan on keeping the emissions stuff then you need to run others.

Hope this helps a little.
