What do you guys prefer to run in your rigs... Regular or synthetic oils? What's the best way to change over to synthetic or can I just change it over all at once. I once heard not to do that.

Here we go..... :D
While synthetic oil is better, its more about regular oil changes than type of oil, I think. If you add up all the cost of that synthetic oil, vs. the savings using conventional oil, the savings alone would buy you a brand new motor.
Also don't fall for any gimics, like this synthetic oil will last one year, etc. You still need to change your oil regularly.
Some people say not to swtich over to synthetic, mainly I hear because its causes leaks. Synthetic oil does not cause leaks, it will just make them a little more obvisous. Synthetic oil is a little thinner than standard oil, so while standard oil may not have leaked, the synthetic may seep out some. If all your gaskets and such are fine, you won't have any problems.
Honestly, just change your oil reguarly, and use a good filter (I prefer WIX personally), and your motor will live a long and healthy life.

i agree. just change your oil every 3,000 miles with some regular valvoline 10w30. thats what i do. personally i won't buy that really cheap oil, but it's probably fine

I use Quaker state synthetic blend, but thats because Wal-mart normally sells it for 8 or 9 buck in a 5quart bottle. 1more and it costs me 11 or so bucks to change my oil. I change it every 3,000 or so miles as well. Sometimes a little more, but its rare.

Thanks guys.. That's kinda what I figured. I'll just keep my regular oil and keep it clean.
