The last time I changed my oil I noticed some oil around the front of my engine. Does the front seal sound like it might be the problem (that's my guess). Are those hard or easy to replace? I know the rear ones are relatively simple but haven't checked into the front. And, are there any other places I should check for leaks firsts?

Thanks,
Gary

Could be the front seal, could be the front of the oil pan, assuming its down low. If it is, don't let it go to long, as if the oil gets on the harmonic balancer, it will eat the rubber in it, and destroy it too.

The oil pan is pretty easy to to in a Jeep. The front seal really isn't overly difficult, the only part that can be stubburn is removing the crank pulley, if that comes off easy, you're set.

Probably the crank seal in the timing cover. Get yourself a service manual and take it from there.

Thanks. After looking in my Service Manual that seems to be in the right area. I'll eventually get to it.
