View Full Version : So which OBA system??

Now that I have beadlocks, figure its time to order some sort of OBA.

So thinking about going the PUMA route, seems that this is a cheap way to go, and would let me keep my AC. Anyone run an impact off of this setup, I don't expect it to run continously, but if I absolutely had to could I? How long should it take the PUMA to fill up my 36s?

The other option I'm looking at is a York setup. This way seems more exspensive, and I have to give up my AC. However from what I've read the York will produce more than enough air to run whatever I want.

I'm leaning towards the PUMA, just because ease of installation.

Any other choices I'm overlooking? (Also can someone post that link to the PUMA compressor)

Do a search on Puma air and they all come up. I have an old impact gun that I get 90 foot pounds out of (checked with torque wrench on lugs) Someone told me that there is no way that the Puma would do as well as my shop air would. I get 100 foot pounds of torque out of the same gun on the Puma. ;)

Thanks Knuckelhead, so you're thinking PUMA would be a good choice as well?

I think thats what I'll go with.

York is very good also. The one thing about the Puma is that its all encompassing, tank, regulator, compressor ect. Besides, I already installed it....

Does it look like the tank from the Puma could be removed and relocated? I know it's not huge in the first place, but it would be nice to tuck the tank elsewhere, or be able to swap in a different larger tank...

The feed air to the regulator is a fixed, welded vertical tube on the tank and the cylinder head bleed line would need to be lengthened and relocated too. I'm thinking about plumbing in a 2 gallon tank to expand the total volume and mounting it on the LH frame rail behind the TC skid plate...

I've been in the dang Jumpmaster course. I graduate 10Oct, but at least its on Fort Carson.

I wouldn't IMAGINE putting the Puma in the XJ without you telling me the play-by-play of what/how to do it.

I'm off tomorrow, if I'm not testing out the new 5" springs I might be home. Give me a call....

I got tricked into going into the office... bastards. I'm taking Jennifer out dancing tonight, and will get up late I imagine Saturday morning. BUT today I'm gonna order the Puma! I'll gice ya a holler though to see what's up. If not... see ya at Harbor Freight for the sidewalk sale on Sunday?

Please don't bypass the censors. Just go ahead and type any words you wish to express. If a word is not allowed, the censors will do their job. Thanks! Stilgar

Ya, I'm not too happy with work lately either. Advance Auto is having a 2 for 1 sale on Sunday at all the COS stores to celebrate a new store opening. If it's like the last one, they had brake clean for $1.09 a can. If so I'm buying 4 cases. I hit Harbor Freight yesterday and got the weekend sale prices. ;)
