So I finally got the right wrenches and such and tried to put a Skid Row engine skid plate on the TJ today. ('02, 6 cyl., manual)

Notice I said "tried".

First of all, it doesn't look like it will line up even with a t-case skid that's not beaten on. It seems like it would be just a little long.

Secondly, I can't get it on because the front of the t-case skid is bent up enough that getting the clamp part on just won't work. So, it looks like I have a couple options...

A) Find someone who took their stock skid off and who is willing to be charitable or not ask too much for it.

B) Find a street queen in a junkyard and yank the skid off that.

C) Put on a bunch of muscle and bend the thing back into shape.

D) Upgrade.

With point D in mind, I went to Skid Row's web site and they say that the Tera Belly Up skid works with their engine skid. But what I've seen of the Tera skid, it's suggested that I have a body lift, which I don't and would rather not have to put money into right now.

So, does anyone have any thoughts on any of these points? More info on point D would be good, like what skid plates you have for your t-case that might fit the bill, if you have the Tera plate, etc.

TF Belly-up with Skidrow, lose the clamp and drill to bolt and mount the two together. Shorten/relocate the cat hanger and tranny mount to re-align the exhaust. Thats all the info I have for you at this time as I'm out of town and my file access is limited.
A BL is about $125 and well worth it IMO..
