Well, I had some fella tell me today that I had no brake lights. After a few minutes of troubleshooting and putting in new bulbs, I discovered that my brake light switch was worn out internally.
A few calls around town revealed that nobody had one in stock - earliest possibily was next Tuesday for about $35.00.
I decided to take that switch apart. Glad I did! All I had to do was re-stretch the springs inside of it, lube it up, and put it back in. Of course, it's a band-aid fix, but hey, at least I can drive!
Dang thing was a mother to get at! Not much room, and a previous owner had wires patched in everywhere under the dash! I was able to cut most of them out. About 2.5 hours later, I had brake lights again.
Just thought I'd let everyone know that the switch is a semi-repairable item.
