Just wanting to know if anyone has installed xm radio in a soft-top wrangler? Where did you put the antenna? How is the reception?

The antenna works fine through the soft top, same with the hard top. You can place it on top of the rollbar which is out of the way and out of sight.

On the bar under the pads here too. Real easy to do, unzip the center pad above your head. Put the antenna there and feed the wire the rest of the way along this pad, to the pax side door pad, remove the 3 screws on the windshield trim, drop the wire down there and under the dash. Zip the pads back up, screw the trim piece back in, takes all of 2 minutes to do.

I put the antenna right on the hood and the unit itself into the glove box for security, excellent reception pretty much anywhere.

I have my antenna (Sirius) in my Tuffy overhead console in my YJ and in my XJ it's on the roof in the back. Both work great.

I have mine mounted to my cb which is attached to the top of the windshield frame. I haven't had any trouble with the reception through the soft top, we'll see what happens when I put the hard top on.

I placed mine right on the hood, just in front of the winshield. Works great, low profile.

Under the roll bar padding. Works fine for me.

Had mine on the hood for about a year. Too obvious, too easy to steal (or worse, just pull it 'til the wire breaks). Moved it inside to the roll bar, and never noticed a difference in reception, and no worries!
