I’m not sure you will find an adapter for the AX-5. What’s wrong with yours? The NP 231 is a pretty good transfercase. I’d rebuild it, put the SYE on, then stick it back in. You can find used ones cheap, you just have to watch out for the input spline size. There is more info here: http://www.novak-adapt.com/knowledge/np231.htm

AFAIK the only thing you can adapt to the ax5, other than the 231, is a D18.
If AA says anything different, let us know.

Your C6 should have a standard round 6-hole pattern so it could "bolt up", but the splines are going to be hard to mate. The 205 should have a 31 spline input while your 231 has a 21 spline input. There lies the problem. To be honest, I would call Vic at Advance, 800-350-2223 ext. 530. He is my rep at AA and really knows his stuff. I would be inclined to think it is not possible because they really do not care to support the Jeep 4 cylinders because they are based more so in hi-po swaps. I can say that we just worked with them on my project. I am running a '94 2.5 and we were able to mate a NP435 trans to the engine and then I have an adapter on the trans output to get to an Atlas.
Personally, I would really reconsider the 205. With the poor low-range they have they do not make good swap candidates unless you have a doubler or extreme low gears in the axles.
