This problem just started to happen when it actually got cool at night. And a couple of days ago when we had a few cool days, and cold nights it was terrible. But when I take off in the morning after usually a few miles, engine dies, no warnings, nothing. Like I turned off the key, except sometimes it does backfire just after it dies. Most of the time I can start it back up right away, but sometimes I have to wait on the side of the road for 5 to 10 mins. But on the night when it was actually cold out and not just cool, it did this to me all the way home (20 min drive out in the country) stopping me about 7 times. Checked all my wires for lose or corroded, double checked the timing, and the choke is opening like it should. Anybody have any ideas???

Maybe Ignition Control Module. Have you done the Nutter Bypass? ICM is under the overflow bottle on the drivers side fender liner.

My bet is on the ICM as well. Since you have already upgraded the intake pitch the old Ford ignition system and stick a GM HEI in it.

Well this sound's like it gave me the final excuse to go get the MSD 6 Off-road ignition control, and the MSD distributor, and see if I get any gains from that. We will see what happens. Thanks for your help.
